Impacts of the Second Demographic Transition on Mid- and Later-Life Health Meeting
The overarching goal of this meeting is to explore current and future research on the impacts of the Second Demographic Transition (i.e., increasing family complexity, instability, heterogeneity) on middle- and later-life health and well-being for individuals directly experiencing the transition. The meeting established the current state of knowledge as well as important substantive and methodological areas for future research. Participants included a mix of scholars who have studied relationships between families and health across the life course, and who represent expertise with existing data resources focused on younger cohorts.
