Tissue and Related Resources Available from the ITP
The ITP is committed to providing materials from its studies to advance aging research through collaborations with other scientists in the USA and in other countries. The ITP's Collaborative Interactions Program (CIP) was established specifically to meet this commitment. Collaborations often involve studies of fixed or frozen specimens generated by the three ITP laboratories. For additional details, or to learn about how to prepare a request for these tissues, scientists are asked to contact the NIA liaison, Dr. Francesca Macchiarini.
- Rapamycin Phase II study (frozen tissues)
- List of fixed tissues (MS Word, 47K) (slides, blocks) and frozen tissues (MS Word, 22K) from cross-sectional studies (22 month old mice)
- Information about the CIP and CIP protocol details
- List of previous and current ITP cohorts. Mice that die at the end of their lifespan in ITP cohorts are always fixed in formalin, and can be an additional source of collaborative resources for assessments that do not require fresh-frozen materials.
The ITP does not charge for these samples, once a collaborative research protocol has been approved.
