Spanish Mini Medical School
La Mini Escuela de Medicina en Español (Mini Medical School in Spanish) is a 1-day educational program offered in Spanish by faculty of the UC Davis School of Medicine to up to 100 participants from the community. The course provides Spanish-speaking middle-aged and older adults and caregivers the opportunity to learn health-related practical information in their native language. It includes information that can be used in daily life for discussion with Spanish-speaking healthcare professionals at UC Davis and throughout the community. Discussion topics include vascular diseases, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, and the co-occurrence of diabetes and depression.
