Recruitment of African American and Non-Hispanic White Older Adults for Alzheimer Disease Research Via Traditional and Social Media: A Case Study
The researchers examined the effectiveness and differences in using both traditional and social media materials for the recruitment of African American versus non-Hispanic white participants for a study examining preclinical Alzheimer’s disease and driving outcomes. Results show that social media was more effective with recruiting non-Hispanic white participants, whereas traditional advertisement (newspaper) was more successful in recruiting African American participants in this urban setting.
