Recruitment Across Two Decades of NIH-Funded Alzheimer's Disease Clinical Trials

This paper examines trends in recruitment over 20 years of NIH-funded Alzheimer’s disease clinical trials conducted by the Alzheimer’s Disease Cooperative Study. The authors observed that no trial achieved an overall recruitment rate of > 1 subject per site per month. They also found that trials with no competition had the fastest recruitment and trials that overlapped with others had the slowest recruitment.
