Preliminary Efficacy of a Recruitment Educational Strategy on Alzheimer's Disease Knowledge, Research Participation Attitudes, and Enrollment Among Hispanics

To help increase participation of Hispanic older adults in dementia research, this trial aimed to assess the effectiveness of a culturally tailored recruitment educational strategy for older Hispanic adults. Researchers held six one-session tailored dementia education events at trusted community senior centers. The participants were given contact information to complete if they were interested in dementia research and enrollment into the National Alzheimer’s Coordination Center was tracked. Researchers determined that a recruitment strategy using these techniques can improve dementia knowledge, research participation attitudes, and enrollment among Hispanic older adults.
