NIH Strategic Plan for Tribal Health Research FY 2019–2023
The purpose of the NIH Strategic Plan for Tribal Health Research FY 2019–2023 is to improve the National Institutes of Health’s relationship and collaborative efforts with American Indian/Alaska Native communities. The four strategic goals encompassed by the Strategic Plan include:
- Enhancing communication and collaboration
- Building research capacity for American Indian and Alaska Native communities
- Expanding research
- Enhancing cultural competency and community engagement
The Tribal Health Research Office, established in 2015, will oversee implementation and evaluation of the elements of the Strategic Plan.
