Educate & Raise Awareness

Memory Sunday Toolkit

Memory Sunday Toolkit. A program of the Balm in Gilead's National Brain Center for African AmericansThis toolkit is part of a campaign to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive health among members of African-American churches. Originally developed by the African American Dementia Outreach Partnership in Lexington, KY, it is now updated and distributed by the Balm in Gilead’s National Brain Health Center for African Americans. The toolkit contains resources for implementing Memory Sunday—the second Sunday in June, when interested congregations participate in the awareness campaign. These resources include guides for understanding memory screenings, communications, and creating a caregiver retreat, as well as resources for families and clergy.
