Dance for Health

"Dance for Health: Active Mind, Active Body" is a Penn Memory Center program to promote healthy living for older adults through exercising, socializing, and healthy eating. The program involves weekly dance sessions and monthly intergenerational activities with students from an area high school. At the beginning and end of each 3-month session, participants are asked to complete a survey to measure well-being and satisfaction with their everyday lives. The program is held at the Ralston Center, which provides services and support to people 55 years of age or older and serves a primarily African-American community in West Philadelphia.
