NIA deputy director to present live exercise demonstration for NIH Coping with COVID-19 series

Update 6/26/2020: You can access Dr. Bernard's exercise demonstration on Facebook here.

NIA Deputy Director Marie A. Bernard, M.D., will guest star on the NIH Coping with COVID-19 livestream series June 26, from 2 – 2:30pm. This will be broadcast on the NIH Facebook and Twitter pages. The demonstration will be archived on the NIH Facebook page and Twitter page after the event.

Dr. Bernard’s “Coping with COVID-19 Livestream: Staying Physically Active During the Pandemic” session will feature adaptations of the four types of exercise — endurance, strength, balance, flexibility — that older adults can do in their own home.

Prior to the pandemic, you might have visited a gym or community center to get your exercise. Now that many are staying at home more to keep ourselves and communities safe, most of us have had to modify our workouts. Tune into this live demonstration on June 26 to learn about new ideas for your next at-home workout!
