Background

This symposium will bring together faculty and fellows from the University of Maryland, Johns Hopkins University, the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum and Sidney Kimmel Cancer Centers, as well as the National Institutes of Health. Over the past decade, BARS has promised to serve as a platform for showcasing local research in the fields of DNA damage and repair, chromatin remodeling, cellular responses to cytotoxic agents, and their implications for cancer development and treatment.

Dr Tanya T Paull

Keynote: Dr. Tanya Paull, Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, University of Texas at Austin

Dr. Paull's laboratory has significantly contributed to our understanding of the mechanisms of DNA double-strand break repair in eukaryotes, as well as the intersection between DNA damage, oxidative stress signaling, and protein homeostasis in human cells.
