MIND-S: Care Coordination for Community-living People with Dementia

What Is This Study About?

This 2-year, randomized controlled trial will evaluate Maximizing Independence at Home-Streamlined (MIND-S), a home-based dementia care intervention for people with dementia living in the community and their family caregivers. Participants will be randomly assigned to the intervention or to the usual care.

Do I Qualify To Participate in This Study?

Minimum Age: 21 Years

Maximum Age: N/A

Must have:

  • Dementia according to standard assessments and diagnostic criteria
  • English speaking
  • Reliable informal caregiver who is available and willing to participate
  • Living at home in the greater Baltimore area

Must NOT have:

  • Planned move from home in less than 6 months
  • Receiving hospice care or has end-stage disease (bed-bound and noncommunicative)
  • Enrolled in another clinical trial for dementia or associated symptoms
