Aerobic Exercise and Cognitive Training in Older Adults

What Is This Study About?

This study will examine the impact of cognitive training and aerobic exercise in sedentary older adults, specifically older adults at risk for mobility disability. Participants will be randomly assigned to either a group that does cognitive training alone or a group that does combined cognitive training and aerobic exercise.

Do I Qualify To Participate in This Study?

Minimum Age: 18 Years

Maximum Age: 89 Years

Must have:

  • Right-handed
  • English speaking
  • Sedentary, defined as less than 120 minutes per week of aerobic exercise during the past 3 months

Must NOT have:

  • Dementia (Mini-Mental State Examination score of 24 or less)
  • Severe diabetes requiring insulin
  • Cognitive-executive function deficit (Montreal Cognitive Assessment score of less than 26)
