Benfeard WILLIAMS

Biography
Dr. Benfeard Williams is a Health Specialist in the Clinical Interventions and Diagnostics Branch in the Division of Neuroscience. He supports the Alzheimer's disease (AD) and AD-related dementias (ADRD) clinical trials research portfolio and implementation of the NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy. Prior to joining NIA, Dr. Williams served as a Technology Transfer Manager at NCI and NHLBI, where he gained experience with negotiating collaborative research agreements and managing the patenting and licensing of federal technologies.
Dr. Williams received his Bachelor of Arts in Biophysics from Duke University and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Biophysics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His dissertation research focused on understanding the structural and functional differences between ApoE isoforms. Dr. Williams is also a registered Patent Agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
