Amrita MADABUSHI

Biography

Amrita Madabushi, Ph.D. is the Associate Director of Postdoc Affairs in NIA’s Intramural Research Program (IRP) Training Office, with the Office of the Scientific Director. Dr. Madabushi oversees the postdoctoral fellowship program, Graduate Partnerships Program, and master’s trainees. She received her M.S. in physics and biology from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and earned her Ph.D. in biochemistry from Jawaharlal Nehru University (and Central Drug Research Institute), India. Her areas of expertise include protein chemistry, cell biology, and structural biology. Dr. Madabushi did postdoctoral research focused on DNA repair at the University of Maryland. Before joining NIH, she served as an associate professor and founding program coordinator of the Biotechnology Certificate Program at Baltimore City Community College.
