Jamie LAHVIC

Biography
Dr. Jamie Lahvic joined the NIA Office of Strategic Extramural Programs (OSEP) as a Program Officer (Training) in March 2022. She helps manage communication with NIA’s emerging researchers, new initiative development, and program evaluation. Since joining NIA, Dr. Lahvic has developed a listserv of NIA and NIH training and career development opportunities to disseminate to the extramural community, published sample K99 funding applications as a learning resource for the extramural community, led the mentorship component of the launch of NIA Healthy Aging Start-Up Challenge and Bootcamp to Foster Diversity and Accelerate Innovation, and participates in various NIH-wide training- and diversity-focused working groups and committees.
Prior to her current position, Dr. Lahvic was an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology Policy Fellow with OSEP’s training and career development team from August 2021 through March 2022. She completed her Ph.D. in developmental and regenerative biology at Harvard Medical School in 2017 and held a postdoctoral position in cancer biology at the University of California, Berkeley.
