Biography

Note: Ms. Jackson Fleischmann is a contractor working on behalf of NIA.

Lizzy Jackson Fleischmann is a Recruitment and Outreach Specialist in NIA’s Intramural Research Program (IRP) Training Office, with the Office of the Scientific Director. Lizzy supports the NIA IRP Training Office by working with postbaccalaureate fellows, Graduate Partnership Program Fellows, and summer students completing the NIA Summer Internship Program. She directs the high school summer program and manages the Shock Academy for Introduction to Laboratory Skills (SAILS) camp for local high school students.

Lizzy received her master of science in biology from Towson University, where she completed her thesis research in molecular ecology. She holds a bachelor of science in biology from Lynchburg College (now the University of Lynchburg). Prior to her time with the NIH, Lizzy worked as a quality control microbiologist and was a high school science teacher where she developed curriculum for electives such as AP Environmental Science, Infectious Disease, Genetics, and Biotechnology.
