Emily HOOKER

Biography
Dr. Emily D. Hooker is a Program Officer in the Individual Behavioral Processes Branch in the Division of Behavioral and Social Research. She manages a portfolio on psychobiology and the developmental origins of health and disease. Dr. Hooker completed her B.A. in Psychology at the University of Kansas and went on to complete her Ph.D. in Psychology and Social Behavior at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Hooker completed postdoctoral training in the Department of Psychology at Pace University, the Department of Chicano/Latino Studies at the University of California, Irvine, and the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Hooker’s research has examined how sociocultural context, particularly socioeconomic context, and social relationships interact to shape health-relevant physiological processes and responses to stressors.
