Office(s): Division of Aging Biology (DAB)
Email Address:

Yi-Ping Fu, Ph.D., joined the Cell Biology Branch in the Division of Aging Biology in September 2022 to manage a research portfolio focused on Molecular Epidemiology on Aging, which aims to broaden the understanding of aging as a risk factor for functional decline that permits or contributes to dysfunction, deficit accumulation and/or morbidities. Previously, Yi-Ping held positions at the Office of Biostatistics Research at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) in 2015-2022 and at the Framingham Heart Study of NHLBI in 2013-2015. Dr. Fu received her doctorate in Epidemiology from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and her post-doctoral training at the National Cancer Institute.

Research Interests/Portfolio

Molecular Epidemiology Program

  • Relationships between environmental exposures and rates of aging in human populations
  • Biomarkers for rates of aging in humans
  • Connections and integration between cross-sectional and longitudinal population studies on aging
