Dr. Dawn Beraud serves as a public health analyst in the Office of Legislation, Policy, and International Activities at the National Institute on Aging (NIA). In this capacity, she represents the Institute as a liaison to various stakeholders including Congress and advocacy groups. Prior to joining the NIA, Dr. Beraud, served as a health science policy analyst in the Office of Autism Research Coordination at the National Institute of Mental Health. In this role, she provided research and analyses in support of various Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee communications, program activities, and publications.
Dr. Beraud received her B.S. in psychology from the University of Florida where she performed research investigating the relationship between the integrity of white matter tracts and executive functioning in healthy older adults. She received a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Georgetown University, where her dissertation work focused on misfolded proteins and inflammation in Parkinson’s disease.
