How do I get access to Medicare data?

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have a contract with the Research Data Assistance Center (ResDAC) to facilitate data access requests.  Their website (www.resdac.org) provides all the necessary information for development of requests for both restricted and limited datasets, and their staff can provide specific advice as you develop the request.

Can NIA help with my Medicare questions or problems?

The NIA supports and conducts genetic, biological, clinical, behavioral, social, and economic research related to the aging process and the diseases and conditions associated with aging. We do not have information about individual health questions or insurance resources. You can get a broad overview of Medicare written especially for older adults by clicking on NIHSeniorHealth.gov.
