Advisory Council reviews progress at July meeting

The Advisory Council on Alzheimer’s Research, Care, and Services met in Washington, DC, on July 19, 2013. Dr. Ronald Petersen chaired the meeting, which included an update on the National Plan to Address Alzheimer’s Disease, along with presentations on consumer protections for older adults with cognitive impairment, private long-term care insurance, and a long-term care awareness campaign.

The chairs of the federal subcommittees on research, clinical care, and long-term services and supports also provided updates on activities. In addition, a draft research agenda for long-term services and supports was presented. Members of the public presented comments to the Council in person and by e-mail.
