NCHS, part of the Federal Government, is the agency that monitors and compiles information on the Nation's health. NCHS statistical programs on aging collect information on the health of older people, their lifestyles, exposure to unhealthy influences, diagnosis and age of onset for illnesses or disabilities, and patterns of health care service use.
