American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB) Annual Meeting ASCB has a Minorities Affairs Committee (MAC) which partakes in ASCB’s three-day annual conference. The MAC puts on a mentoring symposium, presentation, and seminar, and has a booth with educational resources that is open every day of the conference. All undergraduates are welcomed to submit research poster abstracts. About 60 undergraduates will have the opportunity to present their research posters to other ASCB attendees.

American Society for Cell Biology

Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) ABRCMS is one of the largest professional conferences in its field, and encourages underrepresented minority students to pursue advanced training in biomedical and behavioral sciences, including mathematics. Sophomores, juniors, seniors, post-baccalaureates, and graduate students in these disciplines are invited to submit an abstract if they wish to have a research poster exhibited at the conference. The conference is designed to equip the attendees with the tools necessary for continued success.

Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students

Geoscience Alliance Conference Geoscience Alliance bridges individuals who are committed to broadening the participation of Native Americans in the geosciences. The conference facilitates the development of scientific partnerships and collaborations, and serves as an outlet for talking and learning circles where attendees can share their research, experiences, and aspirations. There will be a student research poster session as well as a professional faculty and staff poster session.

Geoscience Alliance

International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM) The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) conducts workshops as a part of the ICIAM. These workshops are designed for women to illuminate their research, advance their careers, and participate in scientific and mathematical dialogues. Graduate students are welcomed to submit an abstract for the poster session. Travel grants are offered to those eligible.

Association for Women in Mathematics

Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS) National Conference MANRRS aims to provide minorities with opportunities in professional development and career advancement in agricultural and related sciences that would otherwise not be available to them. Undergraduate and graduate students may submit their research posters into a “Poster Research” contest, as well as participate in an assortment of other research-related contests and information sessions.

National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) NCUR promotes undergraduate research, scholarship, and innovation across all academic disciplines. This conference provides students and educators with unique opportunities to collaborate, gain knowledge, and celebrate personal achievements as well as peer achievements. NCUR values minority input and strongly encourages under-represented populations to register. Students and educators are welcomed to submit abstracts for research posters that span across all academic disciplines.

National Conference on Undergraduate Research

National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA) Conference The conference is designed to bring Hispanic medical professionals together in the common interest of closing the gap on health disparities in the general Hispanic population. NHMA also holds this conference to give Hispanic medical professionals a forum to share their multi-disciplinary expertise to help improve the health care delivery system for Hispanics. Both professionals and medical students are welcomed to submit research posters.

National Medical Association (NMA) Annual Convention and  Scientific Assembly The NMA’s annual convention is designed to bring together an array of African American physicians, academicians, scientists, and allied health professionals. These individuals will shed light on the most recent findings in medical science and African American health. Anyone may apply to participate in the research poster session. Abstract submissions from all medical disciplines and specialties are welcomed.

Society for the Advancement of Chicanos & Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) National Conference SACANAS showcases cutting edge science from the nation’s leading minority scientists. The conference aims to give those who aspire to be scientists, and those who already are scientists, educational resources and networking opportunities to propel their careers. Post-docs, graduates, and undergraduates are welcomed to submit research abstracts to participate in the poster session. Travel scholarships are available for SACNAS members.

Women’s Health Annual Congress American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) actively works toward advancing research in the field of women’s health. The annual meeting aims to support women in research, inform those in health disciplines of the latest discoveries in women’s health, and give helpful advice for career advancement (such as tips on the NIH grant process). Researchers who wish to participate in the poster session are invited to submit abstracts. These abstracts can be on any domain of women’s health.
